Artium Joins Alix - The Next Chapter

I wrote this post the day after Artium’s acquisition by Alix Partners was finalized. I think it’s fitting that this is the first post on this new blog; coinciding with the beginning of a new chapter for Artium, for myself, and our new post-AGI world (!!)

My main goal for this blog is to bring clarity to the hype and confusing language surrounding AI. And to help bridge the gap between the tech itself (transformer based neural nets) and the value it can create for humans and organizations.

Full disclosure: I’m a fully AI pilled optimist. But I think part of that is understanding what the technology is and what it isn’t. As well as what it’s good for and not so good for. To that end, I won’t be using AI to write any of these essays (and keep an eye out for a future blog post explaining why!)

It’s been a month since I wrote this original post, and I’m happy to say that I already see the vision outlined below coming true. The core technology has limitless potential. How we apply it and deploy it will dictate the future. Alix + Artium are poised to guide us down the bright path:

7 years and 1 month ago we started Artium to Advance the Craft of AI Software. Over the past few years, the pace of that advancement has exceeded my wildest dreams.

To keep up that pace and accelerate it, I’m thrilled to announce that Artium has joined Alix Partners. Like Artium, Alix is focused on driving real, tangible outcomes for clients when it matters most. And like Artium, Alix is focused on being the best, not the biggest.

Artium will continue to operate as Artium with the same emphasis on model-agnostic Forward Deployed Engineering, reliable Agentic Systems, and excellence in Agentic Engineering.

Only now, through Alix, we have a new set of AI advisory capabilities that allow us to identify, plan, and execute much larger scale AI transformations. Giving our clients strategy, analysis, deployment, and outcome measurement in one continuous arc.

Without exaggeration, I believe this represents the future of consulting: best in class, vertical specific strategic advisory combined with the deployment of agentic systems to close the loop.

For the last 7 years, one of my biggest takeaways is that the people you bring together and the culture they create is the most important component of success. Whether building this next chapter of Artium and Alix or building the next big agentic platform within a Fortune 500, it’s the people behind the tech that matter most.

For that reason and many more, I could not be prouder to join with Alix. I predict that the values we share, the quality of the people we bring, and the combined culture we create will be second to none.
